Zombies and exploding guts are in style

Quite an intriguing title for a post, I think you’ll agree… but this time there’s no punning or tricky wordplay. This post really is about zombies and exploding guts, and it’s all thanks to my sister Luna and her penchant for the gruesome and gory.

My sister (whose label is called Make it Wednesday) teamed up with two other creators to put together Esprit de Corpse, which is on until November 13 at Egg Gallery, 66a Johnston Street, Collingwood. The other ladies are Charlotte Tizzard (an illustrator) and Kitty Robertson (who makes fascinators). Luna makes crazy critters like the hamsters with exploding (poseable!) guts pictured above, which I have mentioned previously but of course I can’t find that post now.
Anyway, here’s some of their work!
And you can read more here.

An illustration by Charlotte…

Yes, that’s a spider crawling around in amongst the tulle…

Huge zombie octopus who has just eaten a child… (you can see the arm sticking out)

Flapper zombies. Excellent.

You can see a shark with a leg in its jaws attached to this fascinator…

There’s an alligator lurking under the feathers on this fascinator…

Zombie hamsters with a braaaaaaiiiin next to them…

Zombie rabbit and a conjoined twin zombie elephant (unfortunately I took it from the wrong angle so you can’t see that it has two heads)

Fascinator with a skeleton decoration…

And another one with flies…

And here are Kitty and Luna, looking suitably scary and threatening to set hordes of monsters onto you if you don’t get down and see the show!!

Their work is available to purchase, and Luna has a blog, but do you think I can remember the URL now? No, of course not, because zombie hamsters ate my brains…. but if you want any more info let me know and I’ll find out for you!
