Ethnic earrings
When I grow up, I want earrings like this lady.
This photo is just one of many excellent, inspirational photos from a book I found at the library called Ethnic Jewellery. Short of taking a round-the-world trip, you’re unlikely to find a better collection of images of unique accessories. I thought I’d share some with you to finish off February, starting with earrings.
I love how modern these Indian earrings look even though they’re labelled as 20th century. I just wish there were photos of someone wearing them as I can’t quite work out how some of them hang from the ears.
Now this is a lady who knows how to wear earrings… or actually every single kind of jewellery there is!
Although she has a bit of competition from these guys from Sarawak…
And this Nepali lady obviously likes statement jewellery too.
Have you enjoyed this little look into the world of BIG earrings? Next time it will be a mix of accessories and adornments before I get back into some more DIY!
The ones with the extended earlobes make me wonder if it drives (drove?) them crazy to have those heavy earrings flopping around all over the place and getting in their soup.
The new blog is looking rather good!
