Markets are having a moment
You know Christmas is just around the corner when the (already pretty packed) Melbourne craft market scene starts spreading out to the ‘burbs. This Saturday I’ll be at this market in Bayswater, selling organic fair trade products made by Mulberries along with jewellery from my Wilderness Bazaar range – including this necklace which is not even up on the site yet!
I designed it on my most recent trip to Laos and will put it up onto the site soon, but thought I’d give my readers a little preview here. Anyone who follows me on this blog and/or social media will know I identify strongly with crazy cat ladies, but that doesn’t mean I want to wear cutesy kitten prints or feline-inspired gear – except if I design it myself! I created this necklace which fits in with the organic shapes of the rest of the recycled aluminium range and also looks a bit like a full crescent moon on its side … but also just happens to resemble a kitty face. It’s designed to sit at the hollow of your throat (although I may have to offer a longer length chain too. What do you think?) and to go with everything as it’s such a simple shape. And it’s kind of unisex too, so it might be a good gift for a crazy cat guy in your life.
Do you like it? I hope so…
Anyway, if you’re out in the south-east please come and see me at the Fair’s Fair Community Market, 265 Canterbury Road, Bayswater North, from 10am-5.30pm this Saturday. Mulberries will be having a stall at the Makers Market in Ivanhoe on the same day and will be selling some of my jewellery alongside their products, so if you’re in the area, drop in and say hi to Boby and find out more about Lao organic silk!
