Starlet style hair – it will be mine!
When I got my hair cut last week I was a bit anxious. It’s been a while since I had short hair, after all.

But thinking of all the glamorous possibilities of a bob put me in a much better frame of mind. The bob I originally envisaged was straight and chic, but despite being half Asian, my hair is kind of wavy and frizzy, so I’ve started thinking the softer, more feminine finger wave style sported by starlets of the 1930s (like in the Edward Steichen exhibition!) might be more realistic.

It’s funny how a haircut can open up your mind to wardrobe ideas that you might not have considered before. My longer, no-style hair wouldn’t have been in balance with wide-legged pants, but these are on my to-sew list for summer now that my tresses have been trimmed. It can’t hurt to imitate Chanel every so often (it wouldn’t have hurt her male companion to put some proper pants on either!) and I’m in the mood for a bit of a style makeover.
If my hair doesn’t work out quite as well as I hope, I can always distract people with get-ups like these. I wonder if all these people were having a bad hair day?
