MSFW’s new talents
There is always a lot to see at MSFW, and a lot that impresses, but my favourite shows are always the RMIT student showcase and the emerging designer show, which were held on the same night this time. Yes, my brain nearly did explode. So much creativity, yet to be reined in by the worry of whether something is commercially viable! But I won’t babble on – have a look for yourselves!
Crochet run wild by Lauren Slaviero…
Jung Hong‘s origami-like experiments in menswear…
Silver and spikes by Simona Roeder…
A bright take on Mao-style menswear by Duo Xu…
Natasha Fagg goes for fringing…
… and in the emerging designer show, among many highlights, Livia Arena painted bold brushstrokes on a mini-dress…
…while Neo Dia wowed with white, bold colours and metallics …
You can bet that after these shows I just wanted to run home, dig out my material stash and get sewing! Anyway, that’s enough about MSFW. I’ve got plenty of DIY ideas and I’ll be back with regular posts next week.
"So much creativity, yet to be reined in by the worry of whether something is commercially viable!"So true! Made me giggle. These shows are amazing – reminds me of coral
Well, funny you should say that, because quite a while back I did a post about a coral reef made from crochet… http://stylewilderness.blogspot.com.au/2010/10/crochet-your-own-coral-reef.html
