Happy Birthday St Gertrude, patron saint of cats!

The 17th of March is celebrated in many countries as St Patrick’s Day (and in even more countries, it’s celebrated as my birthday, haha!) but did you know that it’s also the day of St Gertrude of Nivelles? More to the point, did you know that she is the patron saint of cats?! No wonder I’m a crazy cat lady – I couldn’t help it, being born on St Gertrude’s Day! Now my birthday’s nearly over for this year, but here’s a little present for all you cat-loving readers instead.

3月17日は私の誕生日でもありますが、世界ではアイルランドの守護聖人である聖パトリックの日で有名です。でも！今日で知ったばかりですが、3月17日は聖ガートルードの日でもあります。それはなぜビッグニュースかというと、聖ガートルードは猫の守護聖人だからです。猫大好きな私の誕生日が猫の守護聖人の日と同じでかなりうれしいです。いいことを知ったお祝いで、この猫好きな男の写真をアップしました。いいでしょう？
